Incredible things surround beef.

We share memories over slow-cooked ribs. We savour burgers prepared with love and good times with friends. We enjoy perfectly grilled streaks to celebrate with loved ones. Beef is woven into the fabric of our lives.

And in Alberta, we've been raising beef for a long time. It's a part of our history, a part of who we are. Our wide-open spaces, rolling foothills, cool springs and rivers create a spectacular environment for ranchlands. Long-standing cattle traditions are a part of our culture. More than an industry, beef is embedded into our way of life and the result is a product, celebrated for its flavour and renowned for its standard of quality.

That's why in Alberta, we're #allforthebeef.

We love beef. It's why we raise it right.

For over 200 years, proud, hard-working beef producers have been contributing to the economy and food supply. But if you ask one of them, they won't tell you they're in it for the money. They love the life, and they love beef. That's why they set the standard for the way beef is raised. We're committed to:

Raising
our cattle
ethically.

We support responsible animal care and handling through the production process. We work very closely with Alberta Farm Animal Care (AFAC) and other organizations to create policies to exceed animal care standards.

Using
hormones
appropriately.

Hormones are a natural part of beef. We use hormone implants to increase growth and reduce the impacts on the environment and resources required to produce high-quality beef.

Ensuring our
beef is
atibiotic free.

When cattle get sick, they need antibiotics to get better. We follow strict processes, including mandatory withdrawl times and residue testing to ensure that beef is antibiotic free.

Setting the standard.

We work hard to create a safe and delicious product. That's why we exceed the high quality standards set by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) which, in turn, exceed the standards set by the Code of Practice for the Care and Handling of Beef Cattle. We do it because it's the right thing to do, and we do it...All for the Beef.
